NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - For the 16th time in the last 17 seasons, Wilmington University is the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Alfred R. Restaino, Sr. Cup Champion for overall athletic excellence in male sports.

The Wildcats first won the Restaino Cup in the 2009-10 academic year and never relinquished it, winning it 11 straight years before turning it over to Concordia in 2020-21 only due to the WilmU athletics department not competing that season because of the pandemic. The Wildcats picked it back up in the 2021-22 season and have won it every year since.

The point system used for the all-sports award takes into account each athletic program's finish in both the 2025-26 CACC regular season contests and conference tournaments. Each institution receives a combined point total and the sum is then divided by the number of sports the institution competes in during the recent season. The award is named after the late Bloomfield College Director of Athletics and Head Coach Alfred R. Restaino, Sr., who served a vital role in not just the school's athletic department but also in the enhancement of the CACC.

Led by runs to the CACC Championship by the golf, men's lacrosse, and baseball teams, as well as regular season championships by the men's lacrosse and baseball teams, the Wildcats collected 75 out of a possible 100 points among its seven men's programs. The cross country team finished second at the CACC Championship for 10 points while the men's soccer team combined for 14.5 points. Golf earned seven points and men's basketball 1.5 points heading into spring. Track field took home eight points for a third place finish while the men's lacrosse team combined for 14 points. The baseball team capped the spring with 20 combined points.

The women tied their best ever finish in the standings and have now finished second overall for the third straight season. The women were led by CACC Championships in tennis, soccer, and lacrosse, capturing a CACC best 81.5 points out of a possible 128 points for a 0.6367 percentage. Women's soccer combined for 17 points while cross country picked up 10 for a second place finish. Tennis earned nine combined points while volleyball added 11 combined points. Women's basketball brought in one point while softball added 11 combined points. Lacrosse earned a combined 14 points while track and field chipped in with five. Bowling contributed 3.5 total points to get the Wildcats to 81.5 overall.

Jefferson won the women's side for the fifth straight year, earning 79 out of a possible 118 points in eight sports for a percentage of 0.6695. The Jefferson men finished second overall, earning 57.5 out of a possible 86 points in six sports for a 0.6686 percentage.
