RINDGE, N.H. - - Franklin Pierce converted on its fifth penalty kick, sending the Ravens past the Wilmington University men's soccer team in the Second Round of the NCAA Division II Super Region 1 Tournament on Sunday afternoon on Sodexo Field.

After a scoreless 110 minutes, the game went to penalty kicks to determine who would advance to next weekend. After not finding the back of the net in regulation or two overtime sessions, each team went back and forth, scoring in each of the first four attempts. The Franklin Pierce goalkeeper came up with a key stop to open the fifth round, and the Ravens' Guillermo Avendano capitalized on his attempt, moving the Ravens into next weekend.

The Wildcats (12-3-6) had the better of the chances in the first half of the game, getting one goal called back in the sixth minute after being offsides and Jacques Mason putting one high on a breakaway chance in the 25th minute. The Wildcats held the Ravens shotless in the first half, leading 3-0, but none of the three were on frame.

The Ravens came out fast in the second half, getting their first shot off in the 54th minute, but Emil Lollike made the stop. Jacques Mason had the Wildcats' best chance again in the second half, getting in alone with the keeper in the 59th minute. But David Skorodumov made the sliding save as Mason tried to slip it in the near post. Emil Lollike was called on to make a similar save in the 78th minute, going to the ground to make the stop and keep the game scoreless.

Emil Lollike made two saves in the first overtime as the Ravens outshot the Wildcats, 4-0, in the first extra session. Theo Faillon had a shot that was saved in the 109th minute and then Jhamaleek Porter forced the Ravens' netminder to punch a ball up and over the crossbar in the final 40 seconds and the Wildcats couldn't get anything on goal with the final corner, sending the game into penalty kicks.

Franklin Pierce brought in a new goalkeeper for the shootout, but Theo Faillon, Jhamaleek Porter, Emil Lollike, and Mylan Le Baut all stepped up and made their attempts from the spot. Lollike got a hand on the first Raven attempt but couldn't keep it out of the net as the Ravens went on to score on all five of their attempts. Raven goalkeeper Brady Gaudet made a stop on the Wildcats' fifth attempt, setting up a walk-off kick from Guillermo Avendano.

Shots were even, 8-8, in the game with the Ravens leading in corners, 7-6. Emil Lollike made five saves while officially recording a shutout.

No. 2 seed Franklin Pierce advances to take on No. 6 Gannon in the Round of 16 next weekend.
