Baseball Under Consideration in Initial NCAA DII Regional Rankings

NEWARK, Del. - - The NCAA announced its first round of official regional rankings for the 2025 baseball season and the Wilmington University Wildcats are one of nine teams under consideration for the NCAA Tournament in May.

The NCAA DII Baseball committee released its first set of regional rankings on Wednesday. Teams under consideration in each region were announced in alphabetical order. Nine teams were listed as under consideration in the East Region for the seven available berths. The committee will release its rankings in seed order on April 30 and May 7, with the NCAA Selection Show set for May 11.

The Wildcats are one of five teams from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference in the initial poll, joining Dominican, Felician, Goldey-Beacom, and Jefferson. The Wildcats are 28-16 overall and 20-8 in CACC play with six games left in the regular season.  The winner of the CACC Tournament will earn an automatic berth into the NCAA East Regional Tournament.

The Wildcats return to action on Saturday when they host Goldey-Beacom at Wilson Field to begin a four-game set with the Lightning. The first pitch of the doubleheader is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
