NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference announced its Baseball All-Conference Teams on Wednesday ahead of the CACC Tournament and four Wilmington University student-athletes were voted All-CACC in a vote of the league's head coaches.
Tyler Pirrung (Newark, Del.) leads the group of four Wildcats with a First Team nod at second base while Nick Classie (Ridge, N.Y.), Brandon Grygo (New Castle, Del.), and Dom Marotta (Sewell, N.J.) were all selected to the second team.
Tyler Pirrung didn't start playing until the second CACC series of the year on March 22 due to an injury in the preseason. He's come on and done nothing but hit. He is 36-for-99 on the year with 11 doubles, two triples, two homers, and 28 RBI in 33 games played. He carries a .492 on-base percentage and a .576 slugging percentage for a 1.068 OPS on the year. His 11 doubles are tied for second on the team while his 28 RBI are tied for third overall. He also has 16 stolen bases with only being caught twice. It is the third time he's been named All-CACC, earning back-to-back First Team nods.
It is the first time that Nick Classie has been named All-CACC, earning Second Team as a catcher. For the season, he is hitting .318 with 34 hits, adding six doubles and four homers. He 21 RBI rank sixth on the team. Defensively, he is second in the CACC with 19 runners caught stealing and a league low 45 stolen bases against among starting catchers, as well as a .703 stolen bases against percentage. He's hit homers against New Haven, No. 18 Jefferson, No. 18 Goldey-Beacom on Senior Day, and No. 24 Goldey-Beacom in the CACC Tournament.
Reigning CACC Rookie of the Year Brandon Grygo has found his way onto the All-Conference Teams again, earning a Second Team spot as an outfielder. He's played in all 53 games for the Wildcats, leading regular starters with a .368 batting average with 75 hits. His 16 doubles are fifth in the CACC while his six triples rank second. He is also eighth in the CACC with eight homers, all from the leadoff position. He leads the team with 46 RBI and 58 runs scored and is also 21-for-22 in stolen base attempts. He carries a 1.045 OPS, ranking 12th in the CACC.
In his first season with the Wildcats, Dom Marotta earns a spot on the Second Team All-CACC as a reliever. He leads the CACC with 23 appearances out of the bullpen, going 4-0 with three saves on the year. In 24.1 innings pitched this year, he has 21 strikeouts and only seven walks, carrying a 2.22 ERA and a 1.15 WHIP into this weekend's play. He's earned two wins over Chestnut Hill, Felician, and Lincoln while picking up saves against Bridgeport and two at Post.
Jefferson's Javon Hernandez was voted the 2025 CACC Player of the Year while his teammate Thomas Matuszewski was named the CACC Rookie of the Year. Felician's Max Weber was voted the 2025 CACC Pitcher of the Year while Dominican's skipper Rick Giannetti was voted the CACC Coach of the Year. Bloomfield takes home the Team Sportsmanship Award to wrap up the 2025 Major Awards.
The Wildcats are in and host the double-elimination portion of the CACC Tournament this weekend, beginning with games on Thursday at Wilson Field. The Wildcats face Dominican on Thursday starting at approximately 12:00 p.m.
