NEWARK, Del. - - The top five spots remained the same in the second seeded NCAA Division II East Region Ranks, including the Wilmington University baseball team at No. 4, with the region heading into postseason play this week.
The Wildcats head into the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference double-elimination tournament with a 33-20 overall record.
The CACC has five teams in the top seven of the Regional Rankings, including three in the top four. Jefferson continues to lead the Regional Poll followed by Goldey-Beacom. The Northeast 10's Bentley remains in third followed by the Wildcats in fourth. The Northeast 10's Franklin Pierce remains at No. 5 while Felician jumped three spots to No. 6 this week. Dominican remains at No. 7 this week following by Northeast 10's Southern New Hampshire and the East Coast Conference's Molloy at No. 9.
The committee will take seven teams into the NCAA East Regional Tournament, split into two brackets. The three conferences in the East Region (CACC, ECC, NE10) earn an automatic qualifying bid with four other teams getting in via an at-large selection.
The three conferences will crown champions this weekend with the NCAA Selection Show set to be aired Sunday night, May 11, on NCAA.com.
