NEWARK, Del. - - Three Wilmington University baseball student-athletes have been named All-Region between the three postseason organizations, leading the Wildcats to a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament Championship and East Region appearance in 2025.

Wildcat junior Tyler Pirrung was named to both the Division II Conference Commissioner Association (D2CCA) and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) All-Region Teams while sophomore Brandon Grygo and senior Nick Classie were named to the American Baseball Coaches Association All-Region teams.

Tyler Pirrung (Newark, Del.) is a First Team second baseman by the D2CCA, voted on by the region's athletics communications department and a Second Team second baseman by the NCBWA. Due to an injury during preseason, Pirrung didn't start playing until March 22, but still finished third among starters with a .356 batting average, 32 RBI, 41 runs scored, and 20 stolen bases. His 15 doubles are second most on the team, as he finished the year with a 1.068 OPS. He had 11 multi-hit games, including a stretch of five straight from April 14 to April 17. Pirrung had three hits in seven of those 11 games as well.

Brandon Grygo (New Castle, Del.) had a season for the record books and, despite being named a Second Team All-CACC outfielder, was honored by the ABCA with a First Team All-Region honor. Grygo finished 13th in the CACC with a .371 batting average, adding a .419 on-base percentage and a .638 slugging percentage for a 1.057 OPS. His 86 hits are a new single-season program record while he tied the single-season record with 65 runs scored and had the fourth most RBI in a season with 60, all from the leadoff position. He finished with 18 doubles, seven triples, and 10 homers on the year, adding 22 stolen bases as well.

Nick Classie (Ridge, N.Y.) was the backstop for the Wildcats' pitching staff while having a career year at the plate in his senior campaign, earning Second Team All-Region by the ABCA. Classie set a new program record in throwing out 22 would-be base stealers this season, breaking a record that was set back in 2013. He led the CACC with those 22 caught stealing, while runners were only successful on the catch in 67.2 percent of the time. At the plate, the switch hitter batted a career best .318 with four homers, six doubles, and 25 RBI.

Jefferson's Javon Hernandez and Adelphi's Dawson Montesa were named the Player and Pitcher of the Year, respectively, by all three organizations.

The three Wildcats helped lead the team to the 2025 CACC Tournament Championship and the No. 2 seed in the NCAA East Region Tournament, going 37-22 overall on the season.
