NEWARK, Del. - - The NCAA has released its initial Division II Baseball Regional Rankings and the Wilmington University baseball team is under consideration to be a part of the postseason tournament.
The committee released its first set of regional rankings for all four NCAA Division II regions on Wednesday. Teams under consideration in each region were announced in alphabetical order. Eight teams were listed as under consideration in the East Region, including five teams from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (Felician, Goldey-Beacom, Jefferson, Post, and Wilmington), for the six available berths. The committee will release rankings in rank order on April 29 and May 6.
As of Thursday, the Wildcats are 31-14 overall and 22-7 and in first place in the CACC. The Wildcats are 7-3 n the last 10 games and have four games left in the regular season. They play Georgian Court in a three-game series and complete the regular season with their final game at Goldey-Beacom next Tuesday.
The NCAA will announce the 56-team field for the 2026 Division II Baseball Championship on Sunday, May 10. The winner of the CACC Championship tournament will automatically qualify for the NCAA Tournament.
