Tyler Cleaves and Pablo Quintero Qualify for 2024 NCAA DII Atlantic/East Super Regional

NEWARK, Del. - - A pair of Wilmington University golfers earned an extension on their 2023-24 season as they were selected to participate as individuals in the NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Super Regional from May 9-11.

The Super Regional will be hosted at the Oglebay Golf Resort in Wheeling, West Virginia, by West Liberty University. The three-round, three-day tournament will be from Thursday, May 9 to Saturday, May 11.

Wildcat golfers Tyler Cleaves and Pablo Quintero were two of the eight individuals selected to compete with the top 10 teams from the East and top 10 teams from the Atlantic.

Tyler Cleaves (Kaukauna, Wisc.) is the 28th ranked golfer in the East Region according to the Scoreboard Powered by Clippd. In 29 total rounds this year, he has a 76.2 adjusted scoring average, finishing in the Top 10 in three tournaments. He finished fourth at the Jefferson Spring Invitational, fifth at the Spartan Shootout, and sixth overall at the CACC Championship. He had a season score to par at the Jay Jennison Cup, shooting a 218 (+2) to finish 24th overall.

Pablo Quintero (Bogota, Colombia) is the 56th ranked golfer in the East Region according to the Scoreboard Powered by Clippd. In 29 total rounds this season, Quintero has a 78.3 adjusted scoring average. He has three Top 20 finishes this season, including a 12th place finish at the Jefferson Spring Invitational, He also placed 14th at the CACC Championship and 16th overall at the Spartan Shootout. Quintero had two tournaments in which he finished with a +9, shooting a 225 (+9) at the 2023 Griffin Invitational and a 153 (+9) in two rounds at the Spartan Shootout.

The top five teams and the top two student-athletes not with a team from each regional will advance to the finals, May 21-25 at the Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge in Winter Garden, Florida. The finals will be hosted by Rollins College and the Greater Orlando Sports Commission.
