NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - Freshman Josh Freeman was named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Week after helping the Wilmington University golf team to a team title at the Franklin Pierce University Fall Invite title to start the 2024-25 season.
Josh Freeman (Middletown, Del./St. Georges Tech) finished in a tie for sixth place overall with a 72-73 for a 145 (+5) in his collegiate debut. He collected three birdies on Monday and then battled back from a slow start with four birdies on Tuesday to finish with a 75.
Post's Joe Ensign finished second at the Franklin Pierce Fall Invite with a 142 (+2) to earn a CACC Co-Golfer of the Week award while Goldey-Beacom's Camilo Samur carded a 145 (+1) to finish third at the Battlefield Classic to earn the other CACC Co-Golfer of the Week award.
Wilmington's Sacha Brown was placed on the Honor Roll after tying Freeman with a 145 (+5) and in sixth place at the FPU Fall Invite.
The Wildcats return to action on Monday as they travel to The Griffin Invitational hosted by Saint Leo at the Mission Inn Resort in Howie-In-The-Hills, Florida.
