WILMINGTON, Del. - - Sacha Brown and Noah Wallace earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team in leading the Wilmington University golf team to a third place finish at the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championship at the White Clay Creek Country Club on Monday and Tuesday.
The Wildcats shot a 312 in Tuesday's final round, finishing the tournament with a 298-308-312 for a 918 (+54) and one stroke behind Dominican in third place. Goldey-Beacom edged the Chargers and Wildcats for their third straight CACC Championship with a 913 (+49).
Leading the tournament after the first two rounds, Sacha Brown was in contentions all day on Tuesday as well. He collected 14 pars in the third round but couldn't get any birdie putts to fall, including in the final four holes on the day in which he finished with a par. Brown shot rounds of 72-71-77 for a 220 (+4), finishing two strokes behind Dominican's Alexander Lundvall who shot a 73 on Tuesday to jump Brown on the leaderboard.
Noah Wallace was sitting in fourth heading into Tuesday's final round. The freshman got off to a slow start on Tuesday by going three-over in the first three holes. Back-to-back birdies to close out the front nine got him back to two-over and then he finished with seven pars and two bogeys to hit a 76 (+4) for the day. He shot rounds of 72-76-76 for a 224 (+8) to finish in a tie for third place overall.
Both Brown and Wallace earned All-Tournament Team status for finishing in the Top 5.
Josh Freeman's 75 (+3) was another countable score for the Wildcats on Tuesday, as his round was highlighted by an eagle on the par four ninth. After a bogey on the first hoe, Freeman birdied the par five fourth and then made the turn at two-under par after the eagle. He played the back nine with four pars and five bogeys to finish with his 75.
Pablo Quintero finished 18th overall with a 238 (+22). He shot rounds of 74-80-84 to complete his tournament.
Ryan Heenan birdied the par four 18th to complete his final round at the CACC Championship. He finished in a tie for 26th overall for the tournament, shooting 80-81-86 for a 247 (+31).
Goldey-Beacom won the tournament with rounds of 299-307-307 for a 913 (+49) while Dominican jumped Wilmington with rounds of 305-306-306 for a 917 (+53) to finish in second place.
The Wildcats return to action next week as they travel to the shore to compete in the Chestnut Hill Invitational in Cape May Court House, New Jersey.
