Pablo Quintero Wins Chestnut Hill Invite as Golfers Place Third Overall

CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE, N.J. - - Pablo Quintero earned medalist honors while leading the Wilmington University golf team to a third place finish at the Chestnut Hill Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, battling a tough course at the Union League National Golf Club and high winds.

The Wildcats finished third among seven teams at the Invite, shooting 333-325 for a 658 (+82). They were the lowest scoring team from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference, finishing ahead of Jefferson, Chestnut Hill, and Goldey-Beaom. Queens (Ontario) won the tournament with a 638 followed by Chowan with a 651.

Pablo Quintero shots rounds of 76 (+4) and 78 (+6) for a 154 (+10), keeping all of his over-par holes to just bogeys against the tough conditions. He also collected three birdies in each round, including two birdies and two pars on holes 15-18 in round one and three birdies and a bogey on the same four holes in round two.

Freshman Noah Wallace finished in a tie for second overall in the tournament, posting rounds of 79 (+7) and 78 (+6) for a 157 (+13). He had four birdies in the first round, including on holes 17 and 18. He also finished round two with a birdie, making it six total for the tournament.

Sacha Brown was the third scorer for the Wildcats, improving 12 spots after the second round to finish in a tie for 24th. He posted rounds of 91 (+19) and 80 (+8) for a 171 (+27). He posted three birdies in the second round on Tuesday.

Josh Freeman finished in a tie for 32nd overall, shooting rounds of 87 (+15) and 89 (+17), shooting two birdies in the tournament. Ryan Heenan placed 46th overall with rounds of 91 and 100 for a 191 (+47).

Playing as an individual, Blake Ramirez shot rounds of 84 (+12) and 85 (+13) for a 169 (+25), tying for 21st overall. He birdied the par four ninth in the second round.

The Wildcats have one more tournament this Fall, as they head to the Lenoir-Rhyne Fall Invite on Monday in Hickory, North Caroline, playing at the Lake Hickory Country Club on the Catawba Spring Course.
