Noah Wallace in 11th; Golfers Tied for 10th After Round Two at Atlantic/East Super Regional

FAIRVIEW, Pa. - - The Wilmington University golf team moved up two spots into a tie for 10th overall in the second round of the NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Super Regional on Friday, shooting a 315 (+27) at the Whispering Woods Golf Course.

Through two rounds, the Wildcats are tied for 10th overall with Southern New Hampshire, posting a two-round score of 314 and 315 for a 629 (+53).

Freshman Noah Wallace again led the Wildcats on Friday, shooting a 74 (+2) to move up eight spots and into 11th overall. On Friday, Wallace got off to a quick start with a birdie on his first hole, the par four 10th. He got back to one-under with a birdie on the par five 15th, but made the turn with a 36, even par. Birdies on holes three and five got the freshman back to one-under par, but three bogeys down the stretch pushed the Wildcat out to a 74 (+2).

Pablo Quintero posted another 78 (+6), moving up six spots to 40th overall with a 156 (+12) after two rounds. He collected a pair of birdies in his first nine holes, but a bogey on the 18th had him make the turn with a 37 (+1). A birdie on the par four fifth brought Quintero back to two-over for the round, but a pair of doubles down the stretch saw him finish with a 78 (+6).

Sacha Brown is in a tie for 77th overall after two rounds, posting scores of 81-83 for a 164 (+20). On Friday, Brown had a birdie on the par five 12th to get back to two-over par but made the turn with a 42 (+6). He posted five pars on the front nine, but a double on his final hole of the day pushed him out to an 83 (+11).

Josh Freeman moved up nine spots to a tie for 80th overall with a second round 80 (+8). He carries a 85-80 for a 165 (+21) into the final round on Saturday. On Friday, he had eight pars and a birdie in his opening nine holes, birdieing the par five 12th to get to one-under. But after the turn, a 10 set Freeman back. He answered with a birdie on the par four fourth and then an eagle on the par five seventh, climbing back to five-over. But a double and a bogey on his final two hole pushed him out to an 80 (+8).

Gannon jumped up a spot into first with a team score of 289 (+1) on Friday and now lead by six strokes over Davis & Elkins. Charleton and Adelphi are in a tie for third overall with a two-round score of 610 (+34).

Davis & Elkins' Aidan Talent leads the tournament with rounds of 68-73 for a 141 (-3) while Gannon's Rasmus Seppanen is in second with rounds of 72-71 for a 143 (-1).

The Wildcats tee-off in the third round on Saturday starting at 10:00 a.m. They are looking to move up to be one of the top three teams to advance to the NCAA Division II National Tournament.
