Golf Closes out 2024-25 Season with 11th Place Finish at Atlantic/East Super Regional

FAIRVIEW, Pa. - - The Wilmington University shot a week's best 304 (+16) in the final round of the NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Super Regional on Saturday, finishing with a 944 (+69) three-day score to finish 11th overall at the Whispering Woods Golf Course.

The Wildcats had three-day scores of 314-315-204 to finish with their 944, tying Felician for the best finish by a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference program in 11th overall.

Davis & Elkins, Gannon, and Charleston all advance to the NCAA Division II National Tournament by finishing in the top three. Davis & Elkins won on a tiebreaker, taking the aggregate total of the fifth players to break the tie with Gannon. St. Thomas Aquinas's Nolan Skaggs, and Millersville Johnny Solari advance as individuals, being the first two individuals in the standings not on an advancing team.

On Saturday, the Wildcats were led by freshman Josh Freeman who had the best round of any Wildcat this week. He shot a 72 (E) on Saturday, moving up 22 spots and finish in a tie foe 58th overall. Starting on the 10th hole, Freeman's day didn't get off to a quick start, bogeying the first two holes. But then he settled in with five straight pars before a birdie on the par four 17th. A bogey on the par four first had him at two-over par but then back-to-back birdies on holes four and five saw him get back to even par. He then had pars on the final four holes to finish with his 72. He had rounds of 85-80-72 for a 237 (+21).

Pablo Quintero shot a 77 (+5) on Saturday to close out his tournament in a tie for 42nd overall. He had rounds of 78-78-77 for a 233 (+17). On Saturday, his day started with a bogey on the 10th hole, but then he settled in and had six pars in row. A birdie on the par four 17th got him to even par but then a bogey on the 18th had him made the turn at one-over. A birdie on the par four fifth brought the senior to two-over par, but a double on seven and a bogey on eight finished his day with a 77 (+5).

Blake Ramirez also shot a 77 (+5) on Saturday. He didn't score on Friday, so he finished his tournament in 100th place with two rounds, shooting an 80 (+8) on Thursday and a 77 (+5) on Saturday. On Saturday, he had a birdie on the par five 15th to get back to two-over par and then a birdie on his final hole of the day, the par four ninth to finish with his 77 (+5).

Noah Wallace shot a 78 (+6) on Saturday. He placed 20th overall in the tournament, leading the Wildcats on the leaderboard. He shot rounds of 75-74-78 for a 227 (+11). On Saturday, Wallace's day started with five pars, three bogeys, and a birdie on the par four 18th to make the turn at two-over par. Wallace had six pars on the back nine, but then a double and a bogey on his final two hole saw him finish at six-over par.

Sacha Brown rounded out the Wildcats on the course on Saturday, shooting an 83 (+11) to finish in a tie for 79th. He had rounds of 81-83-83- for a 247 (+31). He finished the tournament with eight pars on Saturday.

Davis & Elkins' Aidan Talent won medalist honors for finishing atop of the leaderboard. He shot a 72 on Saturday to finish with a 213 (-3), defeating Gannon's Rasmus Seppanen by one stroke.
