WILMINGTON, Del. - - The Wilmington University golf team took a four-stroke deficit and turned it into an 11-stroke victory to win its 11th Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championship on Tuesday afternoon at the White Clay Creek Country Club.

Wildcat sophomore Noah Wallace also came back from a two-stroke deficit in the final round, winning medalist honors by a stroke with a 224 (+8). He took the lead with a par on the 17th and then was on in two on the 18th, needing two putts to win once Felician's Pablo Hidalgo missed his long birdie putt. Wallace had rounds of 74-76-74 for his 224 (+8). He is the sixth Wildcat to earn CACC Tournament medalist honors and the first since Enrique Valverde in 2019.

The Wildcats came into the final round trailing Post by four strokes and even saw that deficit slip to eight in the early going of the final round. The Wildcats closed the gap and took the lead for good as the teams made the turn.

Wallace (left) and Hidalgo went back-and-forth in the last pairing with Wallace quickly tying the overall lead with a birdie on the first hole while Hidalgo bogeyed. Wallace took a three-stroke lead with a birdie on six but Hidalgo birdied the seventh and eighth and the two made the turn tied for the lead. The two traded bogeys over the next five holes to keep it even, until a bogey on the par-3 17th gave Wallace the lead for good, as he sank his par putt. Wallace then missed the fairway off the 18th, but got up and down with a solid approach, sinking his par putt from in close to win the tournament.

Sebastian Ramos had the best round of the day for the Wildcats moving up nine spots to get onto the CACC All-Tournament Team with a fourth-place finish. He shot rounds of 79-82-73 for a 234 (+18). Ramos started slowly on Tuesday, starting off with a bogey on the first tee. A birdie on the par five third got him back to even, but a bogey on four set him back to one-over. He then went 10 straight holes with par before a bogey on the par five 15th brought him to two-over. But a great drive on 18 set him up for a birdie on the final hole, getting him to 73 (+1) for the day.

Will Finnerty scored an 82 (+10) on Tuesday, but more importantly, beat his counterpart from Post by one shot. Finnerty was eight-over on the front nine, but then had five pars on the back and ended his round with a birdie on 18, bringing his score to just two-over on the back nine and 82 (+10) for the day. He had rounds of 81-82-82 for a 245 (+29) to place 20th overall.

Josh Freeman was the final scorer for the Wildcats on Tuesday, shooting an 84 (+12). He shot round of 79-79-84 for a 242 (+26) to finish in 14th place overall. On Tuesday, Freeman battled, starting with an eight on the par four first. He had a birdie on the par five eighth to get back to five over, but a double on nine had him make the turn with a 43. He had five pars on the back nine though, none bigger than on 18 to ensure a team victory.

Junior Ryan Heenan was subbed in for the final round on Tuesday, seeing his first action of the fall season. Heenan had a birdie on the par four 12th hole, as well as five pars in the round, finishing with a 96 (+24).

Post hung on to finish second for the Championship with a 956 (+92) while Felician was third overall with a 960 (+96).

Noah Wallace was named the CACC Tournament MVP and was joined on the All-Tournament Team by Felician's Pablo Hidalgo (2nd), Goldey-Beacom's Guillermo De Miguel (3rd), Post's Joe Ensign (T4th), and Wilmington's Sebastian Ramos (T4th).

The Wildcats earn the CACC's automatic qualification in the NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Super Regional Tournament in May. They close out the 2025 fall season next week when they travel to Post's Eagle Invitational at Watertown Country Club.
