Wildcats Close Atlantic/East Super Regional with 297 on Saturday; Tie for 10th Overall

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. - - The Wilmington University golf team closed out the 2026 NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Super Regional Tournament with a 297 (+17) on Saturday, finishing in a tie for 10th overall with a three-round score of 886 (+46) at the Sunnehanna Country Club.

Gannon won the team championship by defeating Charleston on the first team playoff hole, finishing the three-day tournament with an 861 (+21). Charleston came back and forced the tiebreaker with a 280 (E) on Saturday, coming back from five strokes off.

 Wilmington's Noah Wallace led the Wildcats in a tie for 16th overall, finishing with a 75 (+5) on Saturday. He had a three-day score of 70-71-75 for a 216 (+6). On Saturday, he had a better back nine, getting a birdie on the par four 12th and had six pars on the final nine, but his final round consisted of six bogeys.

Both Sebastian Ramos and Josh Freeman finished in a tie for 37th overall with a 221 (+11) in the three-day tournament. Freeman shot a 74 (+4) on Saturday, collecting three birdies and nine pars on the day. He had a birdie on the par four second, par five 11th, and par three 16th. Ramos shot a 75 (+5) for his 37th place finish, shooting a 73-73-75 in each round. He had a birdie on the par three 10th hole, finishing Saturday with 11 pars.

Will Finnerty finished in a tie for 72nd overall after posting a Wildcats best 73 (+3) on Saturday. He moved up 19 spots on Saturday, finishing the tournament with a 78-77-73 for a 228 (+18). He had two bridies on the back nine, including a birdie on the par four 18th to complete his round. He had 11 pars on Saturday as well.

James DeRocini rounded out the Wildcats on the course on Saturday, shooting a 77 (+7) to finish in 99th overall. He had scores of 83-83-77 for a 243 (+33) on the week. On Saturday, he had 11 pars and seven bogeys to complete his 77.

Gannon, Charleston, and Wheeling advance to the NCAA Division II National Tournament by finishing in the top three. Gannon's Pau Sanchez earned medalist honors after defeating Gannon's Rasmus Seppanen on the sixth playoff hole to split the tie. Glenville State's Hector Arriaga and West Liberty's Adam Gill qualified for the National Tournament as individuals as well, being the top two individuals not on a qualifying team.

Pau Sanchez and Rasmus Seppanen each finished with a 209 (-1) for the tournament before heading to the playoff situation.
