NEWARK, Del. - - Unbeaten in its last seven games overall, the Wilmington University men's soccer team has moved into fifth in the latest United Soccer Coaches East Region Poll.
The Wildcats are 5-0-2 in their last seven games overall and are no 6-2-3 heading into today's match at Georgian Court. The Wildcats entered the poll two weeks ago at No. 10, moved up to No. 7 last week, and stand at No. 5 this week.
Last week, the Wildcats tied Jefferson, 1-1, and defeated Bloomfield, 1-0, on Saturday at home. In reference to the United Soccer Coaches Regional Poll, one remaining game stands out for the Wildcats, as they host West Chester on Wednesday, October 12. The Golden Rams are ranked No. 7 in the Atlantic Poll this week.
Davis & Elkins is the number one team in the Atlantic Region and tops the United Soccer Coaches National Poll this week, followed by the East's top team in Franklin Pierce at No. 2. Adelphi is ranked No. 17 in the national poll while Mercy is at No. 24 this week.
The Wildcats play Georgian Court today in Lakewood, New Jersey, and then travel to Bridgeport to take on the newest team in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference on Saturday night.
