NEWARK, Del. - - Wilmington University men's soccer forward Theo Faillon was voted an All-American by the Division II Conference Commissioners Association on Tuesday, becoming the seventh Wildcat in the NCAA era to earn First Team honors.

The senior is the first All-American for the men's soccer team since the 2021 season, becoming the 17th Wildcat to earn the distinction but just the seventh to be named a First Team All-American.

Theo Faillon (Allinges, France) became the third Wildcat to be named the D2CCA East Region Player of the Year (formerly Daktronics), joining Anthony Allison (Sargbah Tarpeh) in 2009 and Lorne Bickley in 2019. Lorne Bickley was voted the Ron Lenz Division II National Player of the Year in 2019 as well.

The graduate student led the Wildcats' attack and is tied for second in NCAA DII with 23 goals and third overall with 52 points, adding six assists on the year. Faillon contributed at least one point in all but one game, scoring at least one goal in all but four games on the year. He scored in 11 straight games, tallying 17 goals during the stretch. He had a season's best three goals at Bridgeport, adding two goals in five other games. Faillon scored game-winning goals against Chestnut Hill, Holy Family, Bloomfield, Bridgeport, and Caldwell in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament.

The nation's leading goal scorer and Mars Hill forward Peter Plugmand was voted the 2024 Ron Lenz Division II National Player of the Year. As the 2024 D2CCA Southeast and South Atlantic Conference Offensive Player of the Year, Plougmand was a driving force for the Lions this season. He led Division II with 25 goals and 56 points this season along with goals per game (1.39) and points per game (3.11).

Plougmand tallied 55.5% of the Mars Hill scoring this season as he had one game with four goals scored (tying the MH school record) and four games with three goals. Overall in 18 games, he compiled seven games with multiple goals. He helped lead his team to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2012, bowing out in the Second Round.
