NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - The 2024 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men's Soccer All-Academic Team contains 83 student-athletes, CACC Commissioner Dan Mara announced today. The honorees represent all 12 conference member institutions.
To be eligible for CACC All-Academic status, a student-athlete must possess a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 at the end of the immediately preceding term (may include summer for fall-sport participants), must be enrolled for at least two full-time semesters at his/her current institution, and must be a second-year student-athlete at his/her current institution. The CACC All-Academic Team was instituted during the 2004-05 academic year.
The Wilmington University men's soccer team placed two student-athletes on the 2024 CACC All-Academic Team this fall. Meeting the qualifying criteria were senior midfielder Diego Ramirez with a 3.63 cumulative GPA and sophomore goalkeeper Charlie Phillips who has a perfect 4.00 GPA.
Nine qualifying men's soccer student-athletes own perfect 4.00 GPAs - Bruno Cakurs and Alex Tan from the University of Bridgeport; Dominican University New York's Alessandro Guzzinati; Georgian Court's Alessandro Cavallini and Sebastian Derflinger; Jesus Gonzalez of Holy Family; Simon Hemler, Felix Nassen, and Diego Righi of Post; and Wilmington University's Charlie Phillips. Including those nine, 28 All-Academic selections maintain a GPA of 3.90 or higher.
