NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - Wilmington University men's soccer freshman Jacques Mason has been named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday.
The freshman helped the 16th ranked Wildcats to a 1-0-1 mark last week, playing a vital role in the comeback victory at Dominican.
Jacques Mason (Monrovia, Liberia) scored his first collegiate career goal in the 88th minute to give the Wildcats a 3-2 victory at Dominican. He played in 150 minutes in the midfield in the two games last week. He now has a goal and an assist on the season for the Wildcats.
Mason's teammate Theo Faillon was named to the Weekly Honor Roll after scoring two goals and adding an assist last week as well. On the women's side, Eboni Bradshaw and Evelyn Payne were named to the Weekly Honor Roll for women's soccer as well.
Volleyball's Karla Nunez-Rivera was named to the CACC Weekly Honor Roll on the court while women's tennis' Molly Carlberg went undefeated in two matches to earn a spot on her sport's Weekly Honor Roll as well.
On the course, the Wildcats were led by Julian Jones and Carter Sparwasser to win the UD Invite, earning spots on the men's cross country's Weekly Honor Roll. Twin sisters Sammy and Tiffany Banning were named to the women's cross country Weekly Honor Roll as well.
Mason and the men's soccer team travel to Millersville on Wednesday night then host Bridgeport to cap Homecoming Saturday.
