MILLERSVILLE, Pa. - - The 16th-ranked Wilmington University men's soccer team went up to Millersville University on Wednesday night and defeated the Marauders 3-1, extending its unbeaten streak to start the 2025 season.

With the win, the Wildcats improve to 5-0-2, while Millersville drops to 2-2-2. Wilmington came into the week ranked 16th nationally by the United Soccer Coaches National Poll and No. 2 in the East.

It was a rainy, misty night in Millersville, but that didn't stop the Wildcats from continuing to roll. Jhamaleek Porter got things started with an amazing bicycle kick in front of the goal, made possible by a header from Ole Themsfeldt off a corner kick. Porter charged in and perfectly read the redirection in the air, somersaulting sideways to hit a left-footed shot into the upper right corner of the goal for his third score of the year.

The Wildcats wouldn't strike again till the 59th minute, when Alex Tarway sent a ball down the middle of the field towards the Millersville box, hoping to connect with a barely onside Theo Faillon or Jacques Mason. His ball one-hopped in front of Mason, who headed the ball over the keeper and the retreating Marauder defender for Faillon to poke it in for his third goal of the season. The Cats quickly struck again two minutes later, as Shuntaro Morimoto passed a ball along the top of the box to Alex Tarway, who promptly shot it to the left post past the diving keeper for his fourth goal.

Millersville got on the board in the 70th minute, but that was all Emil Lollike would allow on the night, saving four of the five shots that came his way.

Millersville outshot Wilmington, 15-14, though only five of the Marauder shots were on goal compared to six by the Wildcats. Millersville also led in corners, 6-5.

Next up for the Wildcats is a Homecoming conference clash with the Purple Knights of Bridgeport on Saturday, slated for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff in Newark. For more information on Homecoming Weekend, please visit www.wilmu.edu/homecoming.
