NEWARK, Del. - - For the second year in a row, Wilmington University men's soccer standout Theo Faillon has been named the D2CCA East Region Player of the Year and First Team All-Region on Tuesday, as voted on by the region's college sports communicators.

The two-time Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Player of the Year led the Wildcats back to the NCAA Tournament Super Region 1 Tournament for the first time since the 2021 season, winning a First Round contest. The Wildcats went 12-3-6 overall in 2025, being eliminated from the CACC Tournament and the NCAA Tournament on penalty kicks.

Faillon has been a dominant force in the CACC this year, leading the conference with 15 goals and 37 points, totals that also rank among the top three nationally in NCAA Division II. He scored in 13 of 19 matches, highlighted by a hat trick at Mercy University on October 8, and added seven assists and three game-winning goals. He missed two games early in the season and then broke his wrist in the regular season finale at Goldey-Beacom, but returned four days later in the CACC Tournament First Round game against Felician.

In four postseason games, he collected two goals and two assists, while also setting up the double overtime game-winner against Felician in the First Round of the CACC Tournament. He had a goal and two assists in the NCAA Tournament First Round win over Roberts Wesleyan.

Faillon's 15 goals rank second in the NCAA Division II this year, while his 37 points are also second in the country. He is averaging 1.95 points per game, ranked fourth in the country. In two seasons at Wilmington, he has accumulated 38 goals and 13 assists for 89 points, going 14-of-16 from the penalty spot, including 6-for-6 this year and 2-for-2 in shootouts in the postseason.

Theo Faillon and all First Team honorees are now eligible to be nominated for the D2CCA All-American teams.
