NEWARK, Del. - - The United Soccer Coaches and Division Two Conference Commissioners' Association (D2CCA) announced its 2025 All-American Teams this week and Wilmington University's Theo Faillon's strong play this season has him as an All-American by both organizations.

Theo Faillon (Allinges, France) repeats as a First Team D2CCA All-American and now adds a Third Team All-American award by the United Soccer Coaches organization. He becomes the second Wildcat to earn All-American status in two seasons, joining Shawn Genus who did it in 2019 and 2021.

The two-time D2CCA East Region and Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Player of the Year led the Wildcats back to the NCAA Tournament Super Region 1 Tournament for the first time since the 2021 season, winning a First Round contest. The Wildcats went 12-3-6 overall in 2025, being eliminated from the CACC Tournament and the NCAA Tournament on penalty kicks.

Faillon has been a dominant force in the CACC this year, leading the conference with 15 goals and 37 points, totals that also rank among the top three nationally in NCAA Division II. He scored in 13 of 19 matches, highlighted by a hat trick at Mercy University on October 8, and added seven assists and three game-winning goals. He missed two games early in the season and then broke his wrist in the regular season finale at Goldey-Beacom, but returned four days later in the CACC Tournament First Round game against Felician.

In four postseason games, he collected two goals and two assists, while also setting up the double overtime game-winner against Felician in the First Round of the CACC Tournament. He had a goal and two assists in the NCAA Tournament First Round win over Roberts Wesleyan.

Faillon's 15 goals rank second in the NCAA Division II this year, while his 37 points are also second in the country. He is averaging 1.95 points per game, ranked fourth in the country. In two seasons at Wilmington, he has accumulated 38 goals and 13 assists for 89 points, going 14-of-16 from the penalty spot, including 6-for-6 this year and 2-for-2 in shootouts in the postseason.

He is one of only two student-athletes to repeat as an All-American on the D2CCA teams, joining D2CCA Men's Soccer Ron Lenz Player of the Year from Gannon, Sverre Orten.

Among the 35 players receiving United Soccer Coaches All-American recognition, three student-athletes are earning the second All-America honors of their careers: Bloomsburg University senior defender Kody Besser, Gannon University senior midfielder Sverre Orten and University of Charleston sophomore defender Joao Silva. Florida Tech senior midfielder Sjur Dreschler earns All-America honors for the third time in his career.

This year's United Soccer Coaches All-Americans will be recognized for their accomplishments at the United Soccer Coaches All-America Ceremony on Saturday, Jan. 17, 2026, in Philadelphia, Pa., in conjunction with the United Soccer Coaches Convention.
