NEWARK, Del. - - The reigning Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament Champion Wilmington University softball team has announced the opening of their January Clinics to be held at the WU Athletics Complex.

The Wildcats' coaching staff and current student-athletes will welcome interested participants on January 22 and January 29 to set forth the skills needed for the upcoming 2017 spring season. The cost of each clinic will be $65.00 and will encompass both offensive and defensive skills.

The first clinic on Sunday, January 22 will be held for girls currently in grades 2-7. The all skills clinic will first work on all aspects of the defensive game before transitioning to the offensive portion of the game. The clinic will be at the WU Athletics Complex from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

The final clinic will be on Sunday, January 29, and will be an advanced clinic for girls in grades 8-12. The advanced skills clinic will also work all aspects of the defensive game before transitioning to the offensive portion of the game in the second half of the clinic. The clinic will be at the WU Athletics Complex from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Clinic attendees will have the opportunity to have their swing captured on the team's new video analysis system. Arrangements can be made to have your swing broken down and emailed to you with suggestions on how to correct any flaws before the spring season starts.

All participants should bring their own equipment including a glove, bat, helmet, catchers gear, training shoes, and cleats. Be prepared to be inside on the gym floor or outside on the turf field depending on weather. Cleats are not permissible inside the WU Athletics Complex on the gym floor.
