Softball Under Consideration in Initial NCAA DII Regional Rankings

NEWARK, Del. - - The NCAA announced its first round of official regional rankings for the 2025 softball season and the Wilmington University Wildcats are one of 10 teams under consideration for the NCAA Tournament in May.

The NCAA DII Softball committee released its first set of regional rankings on Wednesday. Teams under consideration in each region were announced in alphabetical order. 10 teams were listed as under consideration in the East Region for the eight available berths. The committee will release its rankings in seed order on April 23 and 30, with the NCAA Selection Show set for May 5.

The Wildcats are one of four teams from the CACC in the initial poll, joining Bridgeport, Goldey-Beacom, and Holy Family. The Wildcats are currently 27-15 overall, sitting in second place in the CACC with a 16-4 conference record. The winner of the CACC Tournament will earn the CACC's automatic qualification into the NCAA Tournament.

The Wildcats wrap up the regular season on Tuesday with a trip to Felician. The CACC Tournament begins on Saturday, April 26.
