Seven Wildcats Earn Spot on 2025 CACC Softball All-Academic Team

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - Sixty-nine student-athletes have been named to the 2025 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Softball All-Academic Team, CACC Commissioner Dan Mara announced today. All 12 conference member institutions are represented on the team.

To be eligible for CACC All-Academic status, a student-athlete must possess a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 at the end of the immediately preceding term, must be enrolled for at least two full-time semesters at his/her current institution, and must be a second-year student-athlete at his/her current institution. The CACC All-Academic Team was instituted during the 2004-05 academic year.

The CACC Champion Wilmington University softball team placed seven student-athletes on the CACC All-Academic Team, including four seniors. Senior Bella Barnes leads the group with a 3.93 cumulative GPA while Emma Zimmerman carries a 3.89 GPA. Seniors Eve Serrato (3.75) and Kylee Gunkel (3.71) round out the Wildcat seniors on the All-Academic Team. Juniors Alexa Eisemann (3.73), Rylee Maloney (3.85), and Cassidy Zelano (3.57) round out the Wildcats on this year's All-Academic squad.

CACC runner-up Goldey-Beacom College earned the most honorees in the conference with 10. The University of Bridgeport and Holy Family University each placed nine student-athletes on the list. Individually, three honorees – Post University's Alyssa Hughes and Brianna Hynds and Bridgeport's Sam Ledger – possess perfect 4.00 GPAs. They headline a group of 21 qualifying student-athletes with undergraduate GPAs of 3.90 or higher.
