NEWARK, Del. - - Fifty-three student-athletes have qualified for the 2026 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Softball All-Academic Team, CACC Commissioner Dan Mara announced today.
To be eligible for CACC All-Academic status, a student-athlete must possess a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.50, be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, and be in his/her second year at his/her current institution. New for 2025-26, honorees must also either compete in at least two-thirds of their team's games or start at least half. Pitchers must either appear in at least 10 games or pitch at least 30 innings.
The Wilmington University softball team placed five student-athletes on the 2026 CACC Softball All-Academic Team. Seniors Rylee Maloney (3.72), Jess Reed (3.79), and Cassidy Zelano (3.69) led the Wildcats with sophomores Maddy Vollmar (3.81) and Cassidy Zelano (3.69) also earning spots on the team.
Sam Ledger of the University of Bridgeport owns a perfect 4.00 GPA. She heads a group of ten student-athletes on the list who maintain an undergraduate GPA of 3.90 or higher, including the Wildcats' Kasey Xenidis.
