Women’s Track and Field Place Three on 2024 CACC All-Academic Team

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - Forty-three (43) student-athletes on Friday were named to the 2024 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Outdoor Track & Field All-Academic Team, as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. All 10 CACC schools that compete in the sport were represented on the All-Academic Team. 

To be eligible for CACC All-Academic status, a student-athlete must: a) Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 at the end of immediate preceding term (may include summer for fall sport participants); b) Minimum of two semesters enrolled as full-time student at member institution; c) Student-athlete must be second year student-athlete at member institution (both academically and athletically).

The Wilmington University women's track and field team featured three student-athletes on the All-Academic Team, led by two-time honoree Viviana Caamano. CACC Champion Tiffany Banning made the list for the first time with teammate Abigail Chomo.

Holy Family University led the way with nine honorees on the team while 2024 CACC Champion Felician University was next with eight student-athletes making the squad.

NOTES ON ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM:

  • Five student-athletes on the team posted perfect 4.0 cumulative grade point averages including Georgian Court University's Samantha Lonseth, Goldey-Beacom College's Madison McGowan, Holy Family University's Amber and Ashley Fisgaer and Wilmington University's Abigail Chomo.
  • Eight student-athletes posted GPAs of 3.90 or higher.
  • HFU's Korryn Braxton-Young was the lone student-athlete on the team to make the squad for the fourth time.
  • Seven student-athletes were named to the unit for the third time in their respective careers.
  • Thirteen (13) were named to the team for the second time in their respective careers.
