CHESTER, Pa. - - Two more school records fell as the Wilmington University track and field teams competed at the Paul Donahue Invitational on Saturday afternoon at the George A. Hansell Track complex on the campus of Widener University.

Sytieia Brown broke her own school record in the shot put and Deja Curry ran a sub one-minute 400-meters to set a new school record as well. The Wildcats also came away with nine new personal records during the meet.

Sytieia Brown (Baltimore, Md.) had a toss of 12.72 meters in the shot put, resetting her own school record. She previously set it with a toss of 12.46 meters at the Myrtle Beach Collegiate Challenge to start the outdoor season but bested it once again on Saturday. She finished second overall in the shot put out of 39 throwers and is now 4th in the East Region.

Brown also set a new personal record in the discus, finishing fifth in the meet with a 38.78 meter toss. She is now fourth in the CACC and eighth overall in the East Region in the discus. She placed ninth overall in the hammer throw on Saturday as well with a day's best 41.58 meters.

Deja Curry (Chester, Pa.) set a new school record in the 400-meter race, finishing under one minute. Her time of 59.80 set a new mark previously set by Kharoney Brown at the 2021 CACC Championships (59.82). Curry finished 11th overall out of 57 runners on Saturday, the third runner from the CACC.

Camila Cornejo (800m), Amy Chomo (1500m), Maddie Minnick (1500m), and Cadance Bell (400m hurdles) all set personal records on Saturday as well for the Wildcats.

On the men's side, the 4x100-meter relay team finished second in a deep field with a time of 41.97 seconds, trailing only TCNJ. Rayhan Issah and Donte Dockery finished fifth and sixth, respectively, in the long jump, with Dockery setting a new personal record in the event with a distance of 6.85 meters. Issah finished fifth with a 6.89-meter jump.

TJ Taiwo finished sixth in the 400-meter hurdles, setting a new personal record with a time of 55.36 seconds. Trent Taylor and Cater Sparwasser set new personal records in the 1500-meter race as well.

In the pit, Christian Dollard finished ninth in the hammer (44.40 meters), 13th in the discus (40.24 meter), and 27th in the shot put (10.55 meters). Sam Distler set a new personal record in the discus with a toss of 34.28 meters while also finishing ninth in the shot put with a toss of 13.76 meters.
