Julian Jones and Donte Dockery Named CACC Athletes of the Week

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - A pair of Wilmington University track and field student-athletes have been named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Athletes of the Week after opening the 2026 outdoor season at Widener's Danny Curran Invitational.

The Wildcats' Julian Jones (Elkton, Md.) was named the CACC Track Athlete of the Week while teammate Donte Dockery (Wilmington, Del.) was named the CACC Field Athlete of the Week.

Julian Jones set a new Wilmington and CACC outdoor track record in the 5000-meter event, running to a third place finish with a time of 14:29.65. He was the first NCAA student-athlete to finish, behind only a pair of runners from Frontrunner AC. His time is now 22nd in NCAA DII for the outdoor season.

Donte Dockery won the triple jump by nearly a meter, setting a new Danny Curran Invitational record with a distance of 15.37 meters. Rowan's Josua Justin was second in the meet with a distance of 14.42 meters. The jump lands Dockery in the Top 5 in the NCAA DII outdoor season so far, ranking fifth overall.

Sytieia Brown was also named on the CACC Weekly Honor Roll for the Wildcats after finishing with a CACC-best toss of the week.

Jones and Dockery lead the Wildcats into the Millersville Metrics next weekend.
