Donte Dockery Earns Silver Medal in Triple Jump at 2026 NCAA DII Track and Field Championship

EMPORIA, Kan. - - A leap of 16.00 meters saw Wilmington University track and field standout Donte Dockery place second overall in the 2026 Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday afternoon at the Francis G. Welch Stadium on the campus of Emporia State University.

His second place showing is a new Wilmington program record, improving upon his own third place showing last year the NCAA DII Championships. He is now the first two-time NCAA All-American in program history.

Donte Dockery (Wilmington, Del.) earned a spot in the finals with a fourth-place qualifying jump of 15.79 meters after three attempts. He then had his best jump of the season in the first round of the finals, his fourth jump of the day, landing at 16.00 meters to jump to second place overall.

Harding's Yves Bilong was the only student-athlete in Dockery's way, landing a jump of 16.16 meters in his third attempt of the day. Dockery had the best jump of the finals but then went 15.90 meters and 15.55 meters in his final two attempts to stay in second place and claim silver on the podium.

Donte Dockery was in first place after his first jump of the afternoon, landing an attempt at 15.67 meters. He improved his season best distance with each of the next three jumps, landing attempts at 15.75 meters, 15.79 meters, and 16.00 meters to earn second overall.

Dockery qualified fifth into the National Championships with a regular season's best distance of 15.67 meters at the Morgan State Legacy Meet on Saturday, April 18. The meet's top qualifier, Washburn's Justin Forde, placed third at the Championships with a jump of 15.94 meters.

Donte Dockery earned the Wildcats eight points, finishing in a tie for 26th overall out of 62 scoring teams at the 2026 NCAA DII Outdoor Track and Field Championships, another school record. Grandy Valley State won the men's team Championships with 66 points.
