Freshman Kiara Eubanks Named CACC Rookie of the Week

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – For the first time in her career, women's basketball's freshman guard Kiara Eubanks was named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Week for her performances against Dominican and Felician last week.

Eubanks averaged 17 points in two games for the Wildcats this past week. She scored 19 points against Dominican and went 5-6 from the free throw line in the contest. The freshman guard recorded 15 points, going 6-14 from the floor in the Wildcats overtime win against Felician. Eubanks made four steals and dished out three assists in the win, while pulling down four rebounds.

She shot 42 percent from the floor, 50 percent from the three point line and 70 percent from the free throw line, going 7-10 throughout the two games. She finished with 2.0 assists per game and averaged 2.5 steals.

In four out of the last five contests, Eubanks has scored at least 15 points for the Wildcats. She is currently 14th in the league shooting 44.2 percent from the floor on the year, while averaging 9.9 points per game.

Teammate, Macy Robinson was named to this week's Honor Roll after putting up 19.5 points a game for the Wildcats. Robinson scored 12 points and grabbed 11 rebounds against Dominican, while recording 27 points going 9-17 from the floor for a 52 percent field goal percentage against Felician. She knocked down five threes in the contest to help lead the Wildcats to the overtime victory against the Golden Falcons. The graduate student is 11th in the league averaging 13.9 points per game and tied for third in the conference averaging 2.4 steals per contest.  

Men's Basketball's Jermaine Head earned a spot on the weekly Honor Roll, as well. Head averaged 25 points throughout two games for the Wildcats. He netted 31 points to secure his 1,000th career point in the Wildcats loss to Dominican. The redshirt junior averaged 8.5 rebounds and went a perfect 16-16 from the free throw line in both games. He remains first in the CACC averaging 23 points a contest and first in the conference averaging 2.8 steals per game.
