Logan Brown Wins Northeast Region Roundup; Bowling Places 8th To Wrap Up Regular Season

NEW CASTLE, Del. - - Logan Brown earned top honors as the Wilmington University bowling team ended its 2025 regular season with an eighth-place finish at the Northeast Region Roundup this weekend at Bowelerama.

Logan Brown earned MVP honors after leading the field of 70 bowlers on Saturday with a new program record for a five-match total of 1,164 pins, going for a 232.80 average. She was 46 pins better than second-place bowler Ashley Ferrara from Felician.

The Wildcats went 2-7 over the weekend, falling to Dominican, 4.5-0.5, in the positional round to finish in eighth place.

On Saturday, the Wildcats dropped games to Kutztown and Niagara in Traditional scoring matches. They had their best score of the day against the bye, bowling a 963 and then used that momentum to defeat St. Thomas Aquinas, 857-550. Saturday ended with a loss to Felician, the eventual tournament champion, 955-906.

On Sunday, the Wildcats bowled four Baker matches before finishing the day with a best-of-seven positional round. They lost to Caldwell, Bryant, and Molloy, but ended head-to-head action with a win against Adelphi, 930-868. Dominican bowled over 200 in the first two games in the positional round to take a 2-0 lead. The teams tied game three, 180-180, but then the Chargers bounced back with a 227-141 victory in game four. The Chargers took the match, 4.5-0.5, with another win in game five, 165-156.

On Saturday, Logan Brown bowled games of 226-213-267-200-258 for her record-breaking total pinfall of 1,164. She was one of eight student-athletes to break the 1,000-pin barrier on Saturday but led the field by 46 pints.

Sydney Jones finished 11th overall on Saturday, bowling a 975 for a 195.00 average. She started strong with a 225 against Kutztown and then had another 225 game against the bye.

Miranda Dudas placed 19th overall with a 922 total pinfall, going for an 184.40 average. She had a day's best 202 against Felician while also bowling a 201 against Niagara.

Genna Closs finished in 30th place with an 836 total pinfall, bowling a 167.20 average in the five matches. She had a day's best 189 in the bye round, adding a 185 against Niagara as well.

Alexa Pacheco placed 48th overall on Saturday, finishing with a 605 for a 121.00 average. She had a day's best 141 against St. Thomas Aquinas while also bowling a 137 against Niagara.

Felician defeated Niagara, 4-0, in the championship match on Sunday to win the Northeast Region Roundup. The Golden Falcons went 9-1 for the weekend.

The Wildcats will now prepare for the postseason, as they will compete for a Central Atlantic Collegiate Tournament Championship starting this Saturday. As the No. 3 seed in the tournament, the Wildcats will face No. 2 Caldwell in the first round of the double-elimination tournament. The tournament will be played at Pike Lanes in Southampton, Pennsylvania.
