Bowling Competes at First CACC Meet of the Regular Season

NEW CITY, N.Y. - - In the first of two Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference regular season tournaments, the Wilmington University bowling team finished sixth this past weekend, going 2-8 overall at the New City Bowl hosted by Dominican University New York.

The Wildcats went 1-4 in five Traditional matches on Saturday and then also went 1-4 in five Baker style matches on Sunday. They finished with the fourth most total pin fall in the 10 matches, 7,815, but the CACC Meets use head-to-head records to determine seeding for the postseason CACC Tournament. The second CACC Meet is scheduled for the end of February, hosted by Felician.

Kali Siegel led the Wildcats on Saturday, finishing sixth overall after five traditional matches. She finished with a total of 902, bowling a 180.40 average. She had a day's high 198 against Holy Family and finished the day with a 194 against Caldwell.

Dakota Banach placed 13th overall with a total pinfall of 869 for a 173.80 average. She had a day's high 186 against Felician and added a 178 against Holy Family. Genna Closs finished 17th overall with a total pinfall of 792 for a 158.40 average. She had a day's high 184 in the team's win over Chestnut Hill.

Gabriella Jiovany placed 20th overall with a total score of 724, going for a 144.80 five-match average. She had a Saturday's high 187 against Holy Family, adding a 143 against Dominican. Kaitlyn Manee rounded out the Wildcats with a 22nd place victory, finishing with a 708 total pinfall, going for a 141.60 average. She had a day's high 160 in the win over Chestnut Hill and added a 158 game against Holy Family.

Felician's Vician Luna won Saturday's portion of the tournament, bowling a 941 for a 188.20 average. Her teammate Olivia Salvatore was second with a 935 while Caldwell's Samantha Glunk was third with a 932.

On Sunday, the Wildcats went 1-4 in five Baker matches. They defeated Chestnut Hill, 762-745, and had a day's high 800 in a tight loss to #22 Felician, 829-800.

Dominican leads the CACC Meet standings with an 8-2 team record, while #22 Felician is second with a 7-3 record.

The Wildcats completed their 2025 portion of the schedule and are back in action in January. They will bowl at Bowlerama while competing at the Northeast Classic hosted by Sacred Heart University. The three-day tournament begins on Friday, January 16.
