NEW CASTLE, Del. - - The Wilmington University bowling team ended its 2025-26 regular season with a seventh-place finish at its own Northeast Region Roundup, defeating Chestnut Hill in bracket play on Sunday at Bowlerama.
The Wildcats now turn their attention to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championship this weekend, where they are the No. 4 seed.
The Wildcats hosted 10 other teams at Bowlerama this weekend, going 3-1 in Traditional play on Saturday and 1-3 in Baker format on Sunday. The Wildcats then swept Chestnut Hill in Sunday's Bracket play, 4-0, to claim 7th overall.
Saturday started with wins over Chestnut Hill and Caldwell in Traditional matches, with the team bowling their best match against the bye with a 938. After a loss to Mercyhurst, the Wildcats rebounded with an 818-744 victory over Holy Family.
Genna Closs led the Wildcats with a 7th place finish in the standings, bowling a 200.60 per game average. She bowled a 1,003 five-game total, producing a 216 against Chestnut Hill and a 213 against the bye. Her lowest score of the day was a 183, bowling games of 197 and 194 as well.
Dakota Banach finished 10th overall with a 963 total pinfall, going for a 192.60 average. She had identical scores of 212 against Chestnut Hill and against the bye, also bowling a 188 against Mercyhurst.
Kali Siegel placed 21st overall with a 900, bowling a 180.00 average. She had a WilmU's best 225 against Mercyhurst, adding a 203 against the bye as well. Gabriella Jiovany was 33rd overall on Saturday with a 765, bowling a 153.00 average. She had a day's best 186 against the bye. Brianna Moss added a 44th place finish for the Wildcats, bowling a 583 for a 116.60 average. She had a day's best 126 in the win over Caldwell.
Sunday brought on four Baker style games, as the Wildcats fell to Kutztown and Molloy. They earned a 806-694 win over Merrimack but fell to Felician to close out play, despite a day's best 864 score.
The Wildcats were able to sweep Chestnut Hill in bracket play though, winning 188-170, 182-145, 168-147, and 200-104, to claim seventh overall.
Felician won the Northeast Region Roundup, defeating Molloy in the championship. Caldwell placed third overall after the bracket victory.
The double-elimination CACC Championship begins on Saturday, March 21 in Southampton, Pennsylvania. The Wildcats take on CACC Regular Season Champions Dominican in the first round, starting at 8:30 a.m. at the Pike Lanes.
