SOUTHAMPTON, Pa. - - The 2025-26 Wilmington University bowling season came to a close on Saturday in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championships, falling to Dominican, 2-0, in the First Round before being eliminated by Felician, 2-0, at the Pike Lanes.
The Wildcats advanced to the CACC Championship as the fourth seed after a strong finish in the two CACC regular-season meets. They matched up against No. 1 seed Dominican in the first round on Saturday.
In the opener on Saturday morning, the Wildcats received excellent Traditional games from Genna Closs (204) and Dakota Banach (196), but the Dominican depth was too much as the Chargers took the team match of the Mega Match, 886-794. Dominican then came out and produced four Baker games over 200, beating the Wildcats, 1,004-806, to win the Mega Match, 2-0.
The Wildcats then faced No. 3 Felician in an elimination match on Saturday afternoon. Dakota Banach bowled a match-best 223, but it wasn't enough to get by the Golden Falcons in the team game, 834-768. The Baker match was back and forth, with the Wildcats leading, 350-334 after two games. Felician took the lead after the third game though, 501-493, and hung on. The teams tied the fourth game, 178-178, but the Wildcats couldn't make the comeback in game five, as Felician won, 883-861, to win the Mega Match, 2-0.
Felician went on to defeat Caldwell in another elimination match on Sunday but fell to Dominican in the CACC Championship.
For her efforts on Saturday, Dakota Banach was named to the CACC All-Tournament Team.
