GRAND LAKE, Colo. - - The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) has announced that 256 schools across all three NCAA Divisions have earned Academic Honor Squads Honor for the 2014 season.
The Wilmington University women's lacrosse team is one of four Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference teams that earned the award.
In order to be eligible for the award, the team must possess a grade point average of 3.0 or high to earn Academic Squad honors. The Wildcats boasted a 3.13 team GPA during the 2013-14 academic school year.
Across the NCAA Division II, the IWLCA named 46 schools to the 2014 Division II Academic Honor Squad. Inside the CACC, the Wildcats were joined by Georgian Court University, Philadelphia University, and Post University.
Of the NCAA Division I schools, 85 schools were honored by having a team GPA of 3.0 or higher while 125 NCAA Division III schools earned the accolade.
