NEWARK, Del. – A strong start for the Wilmington University women's lacrosse team helped them to a 20-3 win over Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference contender Felician on Wednesday afternoon at the WU Athletics Complex.
Taylor Lambeth got the Wildcats (5-6, 2-1 CACC) on the board early thanks to a pass from Brooke Siebert, with 28:32 left in the first half to start the scoring for WilmU. Delaney Steele would be the next Wildcat to get on the board just 1:28 later to give Wilmington a 2-0 lead. Felician would score their first goal of the game with 4:36 to play until the break, but two more goals would give the Wildcats a 15-1 lead into the half. Seven different Wildcats would get on the board for Wilmington in just the first half. Steele would dish out the final five assists of the half for Wilmington to give her a total of six in the game.
With their lead at 14, Steele would score the first two goals of the second half for the Wildcats off a free position shot. The Golden Falcons would score back-to-back goals with under 16 minutes to play to make it a 17-3 game, but three more Wildcat goals would clinch the 20-3 victory for WilmU.

The red shirt sophomore was just two points shy of tying the single game record for most points in a game with 12, set by La'Dae Boykin last season.
