NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - Fifty-four (54) student-athletes on Wednesday were named to the 2024 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Lacrosse All-Academic Team, as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. All 10 CACC schools that compete in the sport were represented on the All-Academic Team.
The Wilmington University women's lacrosse team boasts seven Wildcats on the 2024 CACC All-Academic Team, including a pair of three-time honorees. Seniors Katie Vindigni (3.70 GPA) and Lauren Gresham (3.78 GPA) lead the group as three-time honorees while Madison Trzaska (3.91 GPA) makes the team for the second year in a row. They are joined on the team by newcomers Taylor Culver (3.54 GPA), Anastasia Giannoulis (3.57 GPA), Alea Javorowsky (3.55 GPA), and Ella Royer (3.71 GPA).
To be eligible for CACC All-Academic status, a student-athlete must: a) Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 at the end of immediate preceding term (may include summer for fall sport participants); b) Minimum of two semesters enrolled as full-time student at member institution; c) Student-athlete must be second year student-athlete at member institution (both academically and athletically).
University of Bridgeport led the way with nine honorees making the team, while CACC Champion Dominican University and Thomas Jefferson University followed with eight honorees apiece.
NOTES ON ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM
- Three student-athletes -- UB's Megan Kreitler, Tereza Kreuzova and Post University's Cara DiStefano -- posted perfect 4.0 cumulative grade point averages.
- Sixteen (16) student-athletes posted GPAs of 3.90 or higher.
- Post's DiStefano and Hailey McHenry were named to the unit for the fourth time in their respective careers.
- Eight were named to the unit for the third time in their respective careers.
- Seventeen (17) were named to the team for the second time in their respective careers.
- The six teams to qualify for the CACC playoffs combined to have 40 student-athletes earn All-Academic status.
