NEWARK, Del. - - Following the first time the Wilmington University women's lacrosse was ever under consideration for the NCAA Division II East Regional Tournament last week, it is the first time the Wildcats have ever been ranked in the official poll, sitting at No. 5 in the East on Wednesday.

The Wildcats are one of three teams from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference to earn a ranking this week, after being under consideration last week in the opening poll. Dominican is fourth, followed the Wildcats in fifth, and Jefferson in seventh.

Wilmington's two losses this year have come to Dominican and Jefferson, coming up with key wins over Frostburg State which is ranked No. 6 in the Atlantic Region, and Dominican (CA) which is No. 2 in RPI in the Atlantic.
