NEWARK, Del. - - Following its record-setting 2026 season, the Wilmington University women's lacrosse team has been ranked nationally in the final polls of the season by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) and USA Lacrosse Magazine.

The Wildcats, who won a program record 19 games this season, are ranked No. 21 by the IWLCA and No. 17 by USA Lacrosse Magazine in the organizations' final polls of the year.

Wilmington won its first Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament Championship this spring, defeating Dominican, 13-9, in the final at the WU Athletics Complex. Advancing to their first NCAA Tournament, the Wildcats then defeated Dominican again in the First Round, 15-11.

The season came to a close with a 15-11 loss at East Region No. 1 Adelphi in the Second Round. Dominican is ranked No. 22 and Adelphi No. 10 in the final IWLCA National Poll.

The Wildcats finished a program-best 19-3 this season.
