NEWARK, Del. - - A pair of juniors on the Wilmington University women's soccer teams padded their resumes on Thursday, earning recognition as the National Soccer Coaches Association of America announced its 2016 Division II Women's All-East Region Teams.

Junior defender Melissa Gall (Marlton, N.J./Cherokee) and junior forward Teigha Ward (Ilion, N.Y./Central Valley Academy) were named to the NSCAA All-East Region Third Team, making it the second All-Region honor of the year for the pair. They were both named D2CCA All-East Region Second Team earlier this fall.

Gall anchored the defense for the Wildcats, starting all 18 of her games on the year. She finished fifth on the team in points as well, scoring four goals while adding one assist. Gall was a target on set pieces throughout the year, scoring two off blasts from in front of the goal (one penalty-kick) while also scoring a pair off corner kicks.

Ward led the team and finished second in the CACC with 27 points in her first season as a Wildcat. She tied for the team lead with 10 goals on the year, but added seven assists to only finish two points behind the CACC leader who collected 29 points. Ward also led the team with 39 shots on the year, putting a team leading 23 of them on frame. Her five game-winning goals also rank second in the CACC. She tied a single match program record with four goals against Concordia on October 15.

The duo led the Wildcats to an 11-8 overall record and the fifth seed in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament with an 8-4 record. The Wildcats advanced to the CACC Tournament Semifinals for the first time since the 2012 season.
