NEWARK, Del. - - Heading into the home stretch of the 2024 regular season, the Wilmington University women's soccer team continues to be present in the United Soccer Coaches East Regional Poll, coming in at No. 6 in the Week 7 Poll announced on Tuesday.
The Wildcats are one of two Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference teams in this week's poll, with Jefferson coming in right above the Wildcats at No. 5.
The top three teams remained the same this week, anchored by Adelphi, Southern New Hampshire, and Franklin Pierce. Saint Anselm jumped two spots to No. 4 while Jefferson and Wilmington each slip down one spot. Saint Michael's stays at No. 7 this week while Southern Connecticut State rejoins the Top 10 at No. 8. Bentley remains at No. 9 while Molloy rejoins the group at No. 10 in this week's poll.
Since the announcement of the poll, the Wildcats have defeated St. Thomas Aquinas, 3-1, on Wednesday, moving their overall record to 9-4. They have four regular season games remaining before a entering the postseason. They next play on Saturday at home against Dominican. The opening whistle is set for 12:00 p.m.
