NEWARK, Del. - - The Wilmington University women's soccer is still alive for an at-large bid as the final NCAA DII Women's Soccer Regional Rankings have been posted prior to the Selection Show on Monday night.
The Wildcats (12-5-1) are seventh in this week's Regional Poll, hanging onto the final spot for the Regional Tournament. The selection show is slated for Monday night at 7:00 p.m. Seven teams will advance to the NCAA East Region Championship.
The Northeast 10 Conference has six of the top nine teams in the final poll (Adelphi, Southern New Hampshire, Franklin Pierce, Bentley, St. Anselm, and Saint Michael's), while the CACC has two (Jefferson and Wilmington) and the ECC has one (Molloy).
The Wildcats will be looking for the schools ranked above them to win their respective conference tournaments to help their chances when the committee makes the final decision. If a team below the Wildcats, or not mentioned in this poll, were to win their conference tournament and earn an automatic qualification, it would all but bump the Wildcats out of consideration.
The NCAA Selection Show can be viewed on NCAA.com on Monday, November 18 at 7:00 p.m.
