NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - The Wilmington University athletics department got off to a fast start with the 2025 campaign, earning four Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Players of the Week and four honorable mention nods, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday.
The women's soccer team got off to a 2-0 start for the first time since 2010 and earned three of the four weekly honors on Tuesday. Eboni Bradshaw was named the CACC Rookie of the Week while Maria Leguizamon was named the CACC Defensive Player of the Week and Arianna Myers was named the CACC Goalkeeper of the Week. Cross country newcomer Julian Jones was named the CACC Co-Runner of the Week after his performance on Saturday as well.
Eboni Bradshaw (Manchester, England) led the Wildcats with three points over the weekend, scoring the tying goal and assisting on the game-winner in a 2-1 comeback victory over Adelphi to start the season. Maria Leguizamon (Bogota, Colombia) headed in a corner in a 1-0 victor over Bentley while anchoring a defense that only allowed one goal in two games. Arianna Myers (Monroeville, N.J.) made five saves against Adelphi and six against Bentley, recording her first shutout of the season.
Senior transfer Julian Jones carried the Wilmington University men's cross country team to a team title at the Philadelphia Cross Classic. He earned individual medalist honors in his first meet with the Wildcats, crossing the line in 27:23.70, more than 15 seconds faster than the second-place runner. The Wildcats scored 27 points, defeating Jefferson by 21 points.
Men's soccer goalkeeper Emil Lollike recorded 12 saves in two games, including a shutout, to earn a spot on the Weekly Honor Roll. Sammy Banning led the women's cross country team with a seventh-place finish while Carter Sparwasser and Reggie Hernandez each finished in the top five to also earn a spot on the CACC Weekly Honor Roll after week one.
