NEWARK, Del. - - Trailing 2-0 late in the first half, the 20th ranked Wilmington University women's soccer team rallied and scored three unanswered goals to defeat Southern New Hampshire, 3-2, on Sunday afternoon at the WU Athletics Complex.

The Wildcats remain unbeaten through their first four games for the first time since 2010, now sitting at 3-0-1 after four games. The Penmen fall to 1-2 to start the season.

Southern New Hampshire capitalized on their two chances in the first half, going down the middle to Sneha Limbu both times. She scored her third of the season just 3:29 into the contest and then added another one in the 34th minute, giving the Penmen a 2-0 lead.

Eboni Bradshaw cut the deficit in half prior to the halftime break, fighting through a tough space in the box and scoring her third goal of the season in the 35th minute. The Wildcats had three more shots before the half, but went into the halftime break trailing 2-1.

The Wildcats looked like a new team in the second half, coming out and immediately putting the pressure on the Penmen. Indigo Kirk pounced on a loose ball down the left side and got into the box. From a tough angle, Kirk went far post and hit the side netting, tying the game, 2-2, in the 50th minute.

The Wildcats continued to pressure, winning two corners and getting a shot from Evelyn Payne in the following five minutes. Caylay Winters tried playing Anneli Donath into the corner, but the cross was headed into the air and into the box by the Penmen. Four players converged on the bouncing ball, and it ended with Donath poking it home from the six-yard box, giving the Wildcats the 3-2 lead in the 57th minute.

The Wildcats had a few more chances in the second half, including headers from Sierra Bartley and Leana Prudent off corners that were just high over the crossbar.

The Wildcats controlled the second half and ended up controlling the shots, leading 22-7, including 13-5 in shots on goal. Wilmington also led in corners, 7-2. Arianna Myers made three saves for the victory in goal.

Wilmington begins Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play with its next contest, staying home to welcome Holy Family to the Complex on Tuesday. The opening whistle is set for 4:00 p.m.
