NEWARK, Del. - - In the first ranked NCAA DII Women's Soccer East Region Poll, the Wilmington University women's soccer team sits at No. 8 heading into postseason play.
The Wildcats are now 9-2-6 overall and will be the No. 4 seed in the upcoming Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament after a 5-1-5 conference record. They will host No. 5 Georgian Court at the WU Athletics Complex on Saturday afternoon starting at 12:00 p.m.
The NCAA will announce the 56-team field for the 2025 D-II Women's Soccer Championship on Monday, November 17 at 6:30 p.m. The East Region will receive automatic qualifiers from the CACC, East Coast Conference, and Northeast 10 Conference and three at-large berths.
This year, the Wildcats have a win over Adelphi and ties against Saint Anselm and Jefferson who are ahead of them in the poll. Their only loss to a team in the poll was against No. 1 Mercy.
The Wildcats ended a 12-year NCAA Tournament drought last year by earning one of the three at-large bids.
A final poll will be released next Wednesday, November 12, before the committee makes its selections on Monday, November 17.
