WILMINGTON, Del. - - The Wilmington University women's tennis team wrapped up the 2016 fall regular season with a 9-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory over Caldwell on Thursday afternoon at the Delcastle Tennis Center.

The win was the first shutout in program history for the Wildcats (7-3, 6-1 CACC) as they now prepare for the upcoming CACC Tournament next weekend. Caldwell (4-8, 1-5 CACC) has one match remaining in conference play, heading to Philadelphia on Saturday.

The Wildcats used a forfeit at number three doubles and number six singles to jump ahead, 2-0, before the match even started. Begona Gomar and Laura Gil started with an 8-3 win at number one doubles while Anushka Sathe and Milica Knezevic followed suit with an 8-2 victory at number two doubles.

Knezevic was off the court first in the singles events, winning at number five singles, 6-0 and 6-0. Sabrina Blasi-Smith went on to a 6-1 and 6-0 victory at number four singles while Anushka Sathe finished at number one singles, 6-2 and 6-0, for her first completed CACC victory.
