NEWARK, Del. - - The Wilmington University women's tennis team is making its third straight appearance in the NCAA Division II East Regional Tournament, earning the No. 3 seed this year while traveling to No. 2 St. Thomas Aquinas on May 11.
The Wildcats have won each of the past two NCAA Division II East Regional Brackets they've been a part of advancing to the Round of 16 at the NCAA Division II Women's Tennis Championships in Florida.
The Wildcats earned the No. 3 seed this year by going 16-5 in in the 2023-24 season, winning the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Regular Season and Tournament Championships for the third year in a row. They earned the conference's automatic qualification into the Regionals.
St. Thomas Aquinas enters the postseason with a 15-6 record, earning the No. 2 seed and hosting duties after winning the East Coast Conference Tournament.
The other half of the East Regional bracket will be hosted at No. 1 Queens. No. 4 District of Columbia and No. 5 Adelphi will play a First Round game with the winner play Queens for the right to advance to the Round of 16 at Nationals.
The Wildcats and Spartans will face off on Saturday, May 11, with the first serve set for 12:00 p.m. in Sparkill, New York.
