NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference announced its 2024 Women's Tennis All-Conference Awards on Thursday, and the Wilmington University women's tennis team led the league with four honorees.
The undefeated Wildcats (10-0, 10-0 CACC) will be the No. 1 seed in the upcoming CACC Tournament starting on Saturday at the Delcastle Tennis Center. They won the CACC Regular Season title for the fourth year in a row.
The only returning All-CACC member from last year's quad, Kushi Khandoji moves up to a First Team selection in 2024, going undefeated in singles play at 10-0. She went 4-0 at No. 3 singles, 4-0 at No. 4 singles, and 2-0 at No. 5 singles. She also went 5-2 in doubles matches this fall, going 4-0 at No. 3 doubles and 1-1 at No. 2 doubles.
Three freshmen were named Second Team All-CACC in their rookie campaigns, including Molly Carlberg, Ming-Fu Chen, and Siana MacDonald.
Molly Carlberg went 5-3 in singles competition this fall, going 3-2 at No. 2 singles and 2-1 at No. 2 singles. She is also 6-3 in doubles matches this fall, going 3-1 at No. 2 doubles, 2-0 at No. 3 doubles, and 1-2 at No. 1 doubles. She is 2-0 at No. 2 doubles with Gloria Barcaro.
In her first season with the Wildcats, Ming-Fu Chen went 7-2 in singles and 5-5 in doubles play. She went 3-1 at No. 5 singles, 2-1 at No. 4 singles, and 1-0 at both No. 2 and No. 6 singles. She has also played at all three spots in doubles, going 2-0 at No. 3, 3-3 at No. 1, and 0-2 at No. 2 doubles.
Siana MacDonald has played atop the lineup all season long, going 6-4 in singles and 5-3 in doubles this fall. She's won four straight singles matches to end the regular season, going 3-2 at No. 1 singles and 3-2 at No. 2 singles this season. In doubles play, she's gone 3-0 with Kushi Khandoji, going 2-0 at No. 3 and 1-0 at No. 2. Overall, MacDonald has gone 2-3 at No. 1 doubles, 1-0 at No. 2 doubles, and 2-0 at No. 3.
Chestnut Hill's No. 1 singles player Allison Isaac was voted the CACC Player of the Year while Jefferson's freshman Alycia Veroux was voted the CACC Rookie of the Year. Goldey-Beacom's head coach Bernard Flowers was voted the CACC Coach of the Year by the league's sports information directions while Dominican picked up the Team Sportsmanship Award to round out the Major Award winners.
