Women’s Tennis Starts 2025 Spring Season Ranked No. 20 in ITA Division II National Poll

NEWARK, Del. - - Heading into the spring season, the Wilmington University women's tennis team will have a number next to its named, being ranked No. 20 in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division II National Poll.

Wilmington (12-0) won its fourth consecutive Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference championship during the fall segment of the 2024-25 season. The Wildcats, who have five freshmen on their seven-player roster, own an automatic berth into the 2025 NCAA Division II Championship, which begins with the East Regional in early May.

The Wildcats are the highest ranked team in a group of three teams from the CACC ranked in the Top 50. They are the second team from the East Region in the Top 50, with only New Haven ranked above the Wildcats, coming in at No. 15. Following the Wildcats at No. 20 is the ECC's Queens at No. 38, the Northeast 10's Adelphi at No. 34, CACC's Chestnut Hill at 41, ECC's St. Thomas Aquinas at No. 44, and the CACC's Goldey-Beacom at No. 49.

Wilmington starts its spring season on March 19 at Millersville University. They will play each of the other four teams from outside the CACC throughout the spring season.
